model mantra

I don't know about you, but I absolutely love NY Fashion Week. I love seeing all of the beautiful clothes that I can't afford and would never have anywhere to wear! I have so much fun following all of my favorite fashion bloggers' trips to NY, and the gorgeous outfits they adorn while sitting front row at each runway show. I not-so-secretly wish I were them.

My Instagram has been flooded with amazing pictures all week and I've been loving every second of it. It inspires me to get out of my yoga pants, and actually put a little time and effort into myself for once! Being a new mom has wrecked some major havoc on my style and I'm really trying to get back to my old self. You know, the one that was late to everything (okay, this part still happens) because I was spending too much time putting myself together?

One thing that caught my attention this week was a post I saw on Michael Kors' Instagram.

In case you have eyes like mine, it reads, "It's a summer night...you're driving in a convertible with the top down...the wind is in your hair, you're beautiful and in love...be CONFIDENT, strong and have a great show!"

Model Mantra.

Why can't I have one of those? Maybe some days I need to push my stroller (<--- that's not sponsored, I'm just literally obsessed with my stroller) feeling like I'm in a convertible with the top down! Why can't I walk around with my baby on my hip and the wind in my hair, with confidence and strength?

I can and I will, because I'm important too! *fake-it 'til you make it, remember*

Sometimes being a mom, or anyone who does anything, for that matter, you tend to lose sight of yourself. You're so busy caring for your baby, or whoever/wherever else it is that you invest your time, that you forget about the most important person. YOU.

You don't need to be a model at NYFW to have your own daily mantra. I've got mine, what's yours?
