#sogardsbetrippin part 1

Typically when baseball season ends, we pack up our car and make the drive from Oakland to Arizona in as little time as possible. This year we decided it would be fun to make a little road trip out of it and enjoy some family time on our way home. Well, Eric planned the entire thing (and did AMAZING) and our "little" road trip turned into a 2-weeker!
The kids were amazing the entire time, and we had SO much fun. They are memories I will cherish forever. If you followed along on Instagram, we used #sogardsbetrippin and tried to keep everyone up to date on where we were and what we were doing. It was so fun! I thought it would be fun to give you all a more detailed version of our trip here :)
Our first stop was Santa Cruz! We stayed in the cutest hotel, Beach Street Inn and Suites. It was right a block from the water, cute shops and restaurants, and the beach boardwalk! The first day we took the kids to the boardwalk, we played games, and took the kids for their first ferris wheel ride. Saydee was in heaven!
The next day we drove about 20 minutes over to Roaring Camp Railroads and took an hour long steam train ride through the redwoods. It was amazing! The trees were unbelievable, and so beautiful. Saydee and Knix loved playing in the trees and dirt, and had a great time.
Santa Cruz was beautiful and if you haven't been, it's definitely worth the drive! Our first stop totally set the tone for the trip!
