I have this friend, Becca. She's one of my favorite people ever, and I can 100% guarantee that if you knew her she would be one of your favorite people ever, too. Becca's on an amazing adventure in Costa Rica right now, and is just being increíble (<--- that's "amazing" in spanish...I googled it) in every way. **You can follow her adventure here**

You all know that I love browsing Instagram. Well, the other day I came across the most beautiful post that I knew I had to share with you.

Perfection. The picture, the words, all of it.

Skinny. Fat. Who cares?

After having a baby, I have gotten so caught up in comparing my new-self to my old-self, and my new and old-self to others. Comparison is the thief of joy. Every person and every body is so different, how could we possibly compare ourselves to any other one person?! It seems silly, right? Well, it is.

So what if your post-baby body is different than your pre-baby body? Your post-burger body is probably different than your pre-burger body *food babyyyy*. And your post-workout body is probably different than your pre-workout body. But in every.single.circumstance. your body is BEAUTIFUL.

Forget skinny and forget fat. Let's all hop on the Becca train, and chugga-chugga our way to calling ourselves beautiful. No labels, just beautiful.

  1. We have so many of the same thoughts! I was at a wedding a few weeks ago and saw a stick thin woman with long, gorgeous hair, dressed super cute, and I thought there was no way she had children with that body. I was wrong. She had 4. I then sulked the rest of the night, thinking I only had 2 and my body would never look like hers.

Then I went to Costco yesterday and had to carry the baby, while I carried 2 gallons of milk, into the house. I was grateful for my birthing hips and the spot they provided my little guy to rest on so I didn't have to make two trips in the rain.

I need to relish in the body Heavenly Father has blessed me with, big hips and all. It was able to create and provide me with those two precious, healthy boys and that's much more important than what size my waist is.

    1. I love that, Kimberly! First off, your hips probably aren't half as big as you think they are, and second, I love that you can appreciate all of the special purposes they serve!
