Remember a few days ago when I told you all that I couldn't find a good pair of distressed jeans? Well, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Enter: Goodwill. I have so much fun treasure hunting at thrift and consignment shops, not to mention you can save a TON of money while getting some awesome things!

I was going to take my camera in so I could get some decent pictures, but let's just say I wasn't in the...errr... best area...so you're getting iPhone selfies instead.

I'm so glad that my hunt is officially over! I found a couple pairs of awesome jeans that I'm super excited to share with you!

The first pair I found is this (different wash, I think) pair of Current Elliot jeans! When I held them up, they looked HUGE, but I ended up really loving the way they fit. They're distressed with "repair" so they have some stitching that is made to look like some of the holes were repaired, and I really like where the distressing is placed. No work needed here, just a great find! Also, I got these for $9.99! Score.

The next pair I found were more of a normal fit, I liked the wash, and thought I could distress them just how I wanted. They also had a few places where they were a little bit distressed already, so it was the perfect start!

The line down the right side is a bit of distressing that was already there near one of the knees, so I got to work on making some knee "holes" on both sides. Normally I would use some sandpaper, but seeing as how I currently live in a hotel, that wasn't readily available to me. I opened up a pair of scissors and slowly "scraped" (that probably makes no sense) the top fibers off until it started looking how I wanted.

^^ not the finished product
I'm so excited about how they turned out, and am so glad I finally have a few cute pairs to wear! I'm not going to spoil you with the finished product just yet! I'm waiting 'til I can get my husband behind my camera and show you how they look styled and all. Can't wait.

Also, I got two pairs of awesome jeans for $17.99. Kaycee for the win.

  1. Jeans from the thrift store are the best! I love the already broken in/soft feeling. Plus, you can't beat the price!

  2. Check consignment stores, too. No, they won't be $9.99 (darn!) but I'm always amazed by how many high-end jeans are for sale <$50, many still with the tags on!

    1. I rarely go to consignment stores for clothing anymore, just furniture etc. Not sure why, but I need to start doing that again!
